I bought a paintbrush at Home Depot this past Saturday. A Wooster. For years now I've wanted to paint a wall for someone...anyone. Not for any big explainable reason—it's just something I've daydreamed about. I picture myself standing in someone's home, brushing and rolling liquid paint onto the surface of their wall. I visualize the paint being transferred in slow motion from the brush to the wall. Is there a name or term for that point of transfer? One moment, the paint is on the brush but not the wall and the next moment, the paint is on the brush and the wall. What's the point called between those two moments I wonder? The exact moment, under a microscope, that the liquid paint is being transferred onto the surface of the wall, what's that called? Painting a wall is a simple thing but there's actually quite a lot going on, and the idea of that is just something I've thought about in the back of my mind for probably a few years now.
